Survived the Famine, beaten by the Dark Satanic Mills

Like Sebastian Barry, particularly with “The Secret Scripture”, my Great Grand Parents give inspiration for moving stories.
I have been incredibly moved by the awesome power of progress and growth within the Industrial Revolution, trampling my poor ancestors in their rush. Born out of the Irish Famine, starved out of their homeland then crushed under the steam hammers of Victorian mill life, just one clambered out of the pit to father a dynasty.
